A map that explains nothing. Can you find your way to the center of my heart? Just joking…what does this map lead you to?
1st and goal
We are on the 3
Break from the huddle
The ball is handed to me
This is my chance
Gonna give it my all
It would have been nice
Had I not dropped the ball
Some memories are good
While some are bad
Some lighten your mood
And some make you sad
– A memory from a high school football game that I will never forget.
I created a 3D Magazine Collage of my favorite hobby…fishing! Everything you see on my fish are necessary for a successful fishing trip! The lures and weights, dock ropes, my boat and fishing poles, GPS, and of course a cooler for all those yummy Rockfish I like to catch! A few years ago I decided I needed to get as many lines in the water at one time as I could, while I troll along the river. Keep in mind that I’m a one man band when it comes to fishing, my kids are still too young and my wife is not a fan! So I began making planer boards, they are designed to be launched from the boat and cover more area away from the side of the boat. Letting me put more lines in the water to potentially catch more fish! Sometimes it’s successful and sometimes it isn’t! That’s fishing!
I began with a piece of cardboard that I cut into the shape of a fish, then I balled up paper to give it a 3D look. With the help of my kids, we tore through the Bass Pro Shops magazine and cut out my favorite images of fishing. Then the fun part began, placing those images all over my fish.
What happened, This Assignment is Suspect! She’s beautiful, she’s drinking a glass of wine and having a great time. She was last seen with the Ghosts of Fredericksburg, pulling away from the tour in her horse drawn buggy. We found a potential weapon next to the sign where she pulled away. I’m not sure if that’s blood or just strawberry jam….we’ll bag it and tag it anyways. 48 hours later, our suspect posted a nice relaxing picture of them lying on the beach enjoying a nice cold beverage. FOUND!
I searched through my wedding photos to find some fun pictures of my wife and our experiences in Fredericksburg, trying to think of an interesting twist to us going away on our honeymoon. I used word to insert the photos, adding connecting lines and text boxes.
My kids and I had fun with this one. Emoji This in their perspective.
This is an osprey nesting in Southern Maryland. By changing the color it turned into an awesome reflection.
Again, I probably sound hum drum but I am not a picture taker by nature. Truly, most of my pictures are taken in a technical frame of mind, i.e. “this is a picture of the part you requested”. So no, I do not take a lot of photos. In that respect, I currently have no method. In light of the magnitude of what was needed this week and the learning curve, I reviewed the DS106 suggestions for taking pictures and will try to incorporate them in following weeks. Just learning all of the different forms of social media (how to tweet), took a substantial amount of time and from then on has been an exercise in trying to complete the rest of the assignments. I’m hoping I can think about and take more time in capturing images and will read more on how to do it. The link, “writing up assignments” is broken so I’m really not sure I’m doing this correctly either but giving it a try.
This was a picture of me and my son at an amusement park. I used Snagit to capture the photo and used the a tool in the toolbox to insert text into the picture. Very easy!
